LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola Men's Water Polo continues to add talent with the signing of Josiah Brimmage, a local product of nearby La Habra High School.

Brimmage was a standout utility player for the Highlanders, earning team MVP and co-captain honors throughout his career at La Habra. He played an integral role in the team's success as he helped lead the Highlanders to a first place finish in the Carousel League Championship tournament. 

"I am thrilled to have a quality young man like Josiah on our inaugural Biola Men's Water Polo team," said Head Coach Rick Nordell. "Josiah knows what Biola stands for and I believe he will not only be foundational to our team but a leader as we build this new program here at Biola."

In addition to excelling on the water polo team, Brimmage excelled academically earning scholar athlete accolades all throughout high school. He was also a member of the AP Heritage of Humanities during his time at LHHS.

Brimmage was also very active with Fellowship of Christian Athletes on La Habra's campus. He served as the co-president his senior year.

Brimmage plans to major in cinema media arts production at Biola as he aims to further develop his creative talents. He looks to continue the family legacy of attending Biola as both of his parents, Mike and Mary Brimmage, are Biola alumni.

"I chose Bioola because learning in a faith based institution is something that is very important to me," said Brimmage. "I'm so excited to be a part of the first water polo team here at Biola and I look forward to getting to be a part of building what I am sure will be a fantastic program."
