IRVINE, Calif. --- The PacWest released its annual list of Volleyball All-PacWest award-winners on Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles made an impact on the list of First Team All-PacWest, as Sami Hover, Vanessa Garcia and Madison Beebe gathered the distinguished accolade.

The BU volleyball team ended the year in a fantastic fashion, winning 11 of their last 10 matches to bolster their record to 20-8 on the season. A ten-match winning streak aided that incredible run, putting the team within one game of postseason play. Half of the team's 20 wins came in the form of a dominant clean 3-0 sweep.

The back row was led by none other than four-time All-PacWest selection Sami Hover. The BU libero was the 10th player in conference-history to secure a fourth All-PacWest honor, after nabbing a first team recognition on Tuesday.

The senior has been a stalwart in the BU lineup through her time in La Mirada, accumulating the most digs in a career in program-history. Hover also set a record this season for the PacWest and for Biola with 47 digs in a four-set match against Fresno Pacific. In 2021, Hover put up incredible numbers, including 587 digs and a career-best 5.7 digs per set

"Sami has been an overall leader for us in every way both on and off the court," said head coach Aaron Seltzer. "She had matches this year where she did things I've never seen any libero do. She is off the charts. Statistically, her career shows she's the best libero we've ever had and one of the best leaders we've ever had. I could not be more proud of all the work she's put in. The energy and time she invested in this team - it's been an incredible career for her. This is a great way for her to go out."

Garcia grabbed her second All-PacWest award on Tuesday with the first team nod. The BU setter orchestrated the offense, dishing out 832 assists in 2021. The Bell Gardens, California native capped off her career with a bang, posting a career-high 48 assists in the season finale.

The graduate student offered a well-rounded campaign, recording 101 kills, 45 blocks and 235 digs. All three totals were personal-bests for Garcia, who improved with each year she was in La Mirada.

"Vanessa had a phenomenal year," added Seltzer. "What made her so good was how athletic and quick she was and how much of a threat at the net she was. She improved as an offensive weapon for us and helped us tremendously in those rotations. She also grew a lot as a leader and really pushed us forward. I am excited she had such a great year."

Beebe was the lead attacker for the BU offense in 2021, stepping up in her second full season at Biola. The redshirt sophomore was electric from the outside, collecting 332 kills. The outside hitter averaged a strong 3.49 kills per set and a .247 hitting percentage through 25 matches. The First Team All-PacWest nod was the first conference postseason award for the young talent.

Seltzer was ecstatic about Beebe's breakout campaign. "This was Mad's coming-out party. She improved so much and absolutely tore it up this year. She did just a fantastic job being so consistent for us. We knew she was getting better, but the amount of improvement from spring 21 to fall 21 was huge. She is a rock for us from the outside and just a fantastic teammate."

Biola's three first team selections tied Chaminade for the most across the conference.
