LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- Biola closed out the pinnacle meet of the fall semester with a third day of swims at East Los Angeles College on Sunday. The teams finished the weekend with 33 new personal-best swims and 77 season-best swims.

Morgan Kampfer and Jacob Haaksma stole the show for Biola as the freshmen earned the team's first victories of the meet weekend. Grace Kling followed up her highlight night from last night with a second-straight NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time and an event win of her own.

Kling defeated Simon Fraser's Isabelle Roth by a full second in the 200-breaststroke as both women hit NCAA times, just as they did one night ago in the 100-yard version of the same race. Kling's time was a 2:17.51. Anna Haaksma also shined in the 'A' final with a seventh-place time of 2:25.30.

Kampfer swam a 2:05.40 in the 200-butterfly to beat out the second-place finisher from Azusa Pacific. She missed hitting a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time by the narrowest of margins (2:05.36). It was a personal-best for the Orange-native and was her third time winning the event this year.

Haaksma was a star all weekend long and added a feather to his cap with a close win over Concordia Irvine rival Kyle Benjamin in the 200-breaststroke. Haaksma swam a season-best time of 2:05.45 to get the win. Haaksma and Benjamin were the only two swimmers to put any time better than a 2:07. Haaksma broke the school record twice on Sunday, once in the prelims and again in his winning effort during finals.

Noah Benson (5th - 2:11.03) and Nathan Schwantes (7th - 2:12.88) joined Haaksma in a packed 'A' final for BU.

Dylan Pon was a top finisher on the men's side, finishing fourth overall in the unique 100-IM event. He swam a :54.53 while turning in 25 yards in each stroke. Noah Benson also scored in the 'A' final with an eighth-place :56.13.

The women also had a pair of top-10 finishers in the 100-IM. Katelyn Harper (1:00.94) and Sofia Chavez-Varela (1:00.98) touched the wall back-to-back with Harper winning the first consolation final.

Tanner Smith and Kolya Vos turned in matching fifth-place efforts in the 100-freestyle. Vos hit a :52.33 and set a season-best in the prelim and then again in the finals. Smith went a touch faster in prelims than he did in finals, setting a season-best with a :46.51.

Ryan Monrean was responsible for another standout effort for BU as he placed sixth in the 200-backstroke with a 1:56.63. Liza Parahnevich earned another top-5 finish by going a season-best 2:08.97 to finish fifth, going back-to-back with Concordia Irvine's Faith Silzel.

Patrick Waggoner found himself in familiar territory with a podium finish in the men's 200-butterfly. The PCSC MVP finished third with a 1:56.72 to be the top non-Simon Fraser finisher.

The meet drew to a close with the 400-freestyle relay. The men's team finished third with a 3:09.47. The women's team logged a fifth-place finish with a 3:32.53.

Biola has one more meet left this calendar year. The squad will head to Riverside to face California Baptist on December 17th and 18th.
