LA MIRADA --- Biola (20-8, 16-4 PacWest) concluded their season on a high note Saturday afternoon, beating Point Loma (14-13, 10-9 PacWest) 3-2 at Chase Gymnasium. Biola Volleyball celebrated their five seniors Lydia Roleder, Brooke Hales, Dani Bryant, Vanessa Garcia, and Sami Hover as they wore their jersey one last time as a Biola Eagle.

The Eagles got off to a strong start, taking set one from the Sea Lions 25-19.
The two teams traded sets through the contest, leading to a five-set thriller. PLNU went on to take set two and four with scores of 25-27 and 26-28. Biola took set three 25-21 and secured the victory with a 15-9 set number five. 

Sami Hover soared for the eagles for the past five seasons and completed her last game with BU volleyball with 20 digs, four assists, two aces, one kill and a .500 hitting percentage. Hover made history this season, concluding with a program-record 2,334 digs for the Eagles. 

Dani Bryant was the first block of the night for both teams in set number two and man was it a solid block. Bryant had a total of nine kills, five blocks, two digs, and one assist for her team. Bryant finished her last game as an Eagle on Saturday, ending her career as a Biola Volleyball player with a total of 188 kills, 70 blocks, and a .287 hitting percentage. 

Abigail Copeland came in clutch in set number three, showing herself as a threat on the court with her kills. The redshirt sophomore took the leaderboard with eight blocks finishing her 2021 season with a career-high of 129 kills. Biola took set three ending with three-straight points, a kill from Copeland, and two great serves from Garcia to finish 25-21. 

Vanessa Garcia played in her last match as a Biola Eagle and finished strong. She put up big numbers on the leaderboard with a double-double. The graduate student had a season-high of 48 assists, and also helped lead her team to victory with 15 digs, six kills, and a .308 hitting percentage. Beating her career record of 708 assists in 2018, after tonight she concluded 2021 with a total of 788 assists for the Biola Eagles.

Although the Eagles were forced to play five sets, this team was deadlocked early on in the final set. BU surged ahead with a 3-0 lead right away. The host squad took control of the deciding set thanks to kills from Raegan Tjepkema and Beebe, finishing the last game of the season 15-9. 

Madison Beebe the outside hitter had a double-double with 16 digs and 15 kills while also putting six blocks, and two assists on the board. 

The Eagles ended their 2021 season and said goodbye to their seniors with a ceremony after the game.
