IRVINE, Calif. --- The PacWest Preseason Poll was revealed to show that the Eagles were picked to finish fifth in the conference. All 11 coaching staffs from across the PacWest voted on the preseason poll, which was announced on Wednesday.

BU picked up 72 points in the poll, squeezing in between Concordia and Fresno Pacific for fifth place. The PacWest preseason favorite was Azusa Pacific with 120 points and 10 first place votes, followed by Hawaii Pacific in second and Point Loma in third.

Last season, Biola battled tough competition, facing off against five ranked teams. The BU squad put together its best stretch at the end of the campaign, defeating No. 20 Point Loma before winning their season finale against Concordia.

Stephanie Lee was a key cog for the Eagles last year and will look to continue to be a big part of Biola's gameplan. The junior tacked on a pair of postseason awards in March 2021, earning All-PacWest SoCal Pod and CoSIDA Academic All-District awards.

The guard's production was reflected in the season stats, as she started all 13 games for the Eagles with a team-high 196 points, 37 three-pointers and 36 assists. On the year, Lee averaged 15.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

In his seventh season at the helm, head coach Alan Nakamura will be vying for his fourth winning season at Biola. The last full season for Nakamura and the Eagles brought a 19-11 overall record and a trip to the semifinals in the PacWest Tournament.

Biola will jump start its 2021-22 schedule with an exhibition at San Diego State on Monday at 6:00 pm.
