EL PASO, Texas --- Isaac Córdova knew he wanted to join Biola Men's Tennis as soon as he started his first hitting session at the Biola Tennis Center. 

Head Coach David Goodman's program matched the competitive level of his strong UTR, Biola's film school offered great preparation and networking opportunities for a future in production, and the Christian community on campus fit Córdova's desire for holistic personal growth. The El Paso-native just knew he belonged on the Eagles' bright red courts:

"I fell in love with Biola as soon as I hit my first tennis ball on the courts," said Córdova. "I knew Biola was the place for me spiritually and mentally because it had a great atmosphere, humble community and connections for my major since it is so close to Los Angeles."

Córdova has been able to trust his feel on the tennis courts because it's led him to All-El Paso Tennis Team selections and great success on the junior circuit. Just in the past year, Córdova competed in the USTA Junior Team Tennis 18U National Championships and Texas 5A State Championships, and won the L4-Jeff Myers Memorial Jr. Masters U18 doubles draw with partner Aaron Eliscu this past February. That resulted in a 26-14 record in singles and a 15-4 mark in doubles over the past 12 months according to myutr.com. 

The rankings website also credited most of Córdova's opponents between 9 and 11 over that stretch, so Córdova's winning track record over those matches make him yet another addition to the men's tennis team who holds a 10 UTR in singles and a 10.84 UTR in doubles. 

Academically, Córdova has a seal of biliteracy after taking 12 foreign language courses at El Paso High School. He plans to declare as a cinema and media arts major with a concentration in production at Biola and hopes to manage his own studio one day or go pro in tennis.
