WALNUT CREEK, Calif. --- Darby Dresdow has put in a lot of work to excel in school while training and preparing herself for soccer at the college level. The centerback maintained a 4.0 GPA and honor-roll status all four years at Clayton Valley Charter High in the Bay Area, all while putting in the time, effort, and travel days to win tournaments with her club team, San Ramon FC. 

Dresdow will end up traveling again to join her college team. But this stay will be longer and is the exciting final step to realizing her desire to join a soccer team in a Christian environment: she's committed to Biola Women's Soccer and will join the Eagles this coming Fall as they continue to work toward a PacWest Championship. 

"I decided to go to Biola because I wanted to start off the next chapter of my life surrounded by people that have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; I desired to be taught by professors that are Christians," said Dresdow. "I really wanted to be on a sports team with teammates that love Jesus and want to please Him with their lives. From talking to those that attend Biola, I was encouraged when I learned that they found great fellowship with believers at Biola which resulted in life-long friendships."

As a sophomore in high school, Dresdow earned a spot in the NorCal Premier Player Development Program that gave her monthly training sessions with the best players in her area. Since she joined the program, Dresdow and her club won a Davis Legacy tournament championship and a NorCal Premier State Cup championship in 2017, a Las Vegas Showcase title in 2019 and also advanced to a Surf Cup Final in 2018. 

The Walnut Creek-native was one of the leading centerbacks for San Ramon FC during that Las Vegas Showcase last March and helped her team go undefeated while limiting opponents to just one goal.

Dresdow was also involved in a number of co-curriculars and service initiatives during her time at Clayton Valley Charter. In addition to earning National Honors Society membership, she was a leader in the Link Crew freshman transition program for three years and volunteered in Link Crew's physical-education specific program for two years. She's also served on short-term missions trips to Mexico that provided support to local churches.

Dresdow plans to major in business administration with a concentration in marketing at Biola and will join her older brother Kellen in Southern California. Kellen will be entering his third year on the men's soccer team at The Master's University in 2020 and started all 18 matches for the Mustangs last year.
