Signing Announcement for Kiki Kimmel

Easy Decision For Kimmel

A strong connection to the team’s ethos made committing to Biola Women’s Soccer an easy decision for Kiki Kimmel.

April 24, 2020

LONE TREE, Colo. --- After meeting with Head Coach Erin Brunelle and taking a tour of the campus, midfielder Kiki Kimmel was certain God was leading her to commit to Biola. The University was such a great fit in Kimmel's mind that it was an extremely straightforward decision:

"When I started my college search, I knew that I wanted a Christ-centered education and to play soccer with a team that loved God as much as I do," said Kimmel. "I knew I was very interested in Biola and all it had to offer. So, I met the team and Coach Erin, toured the campus and fell in love.

"I knew instantly that Biola was where I was supposed to be and I couldn't wait to be part of this amazing family! Biola had my heart and choosing Biola was the easiest decision to make; God brought us together and I'm so excited to see what He's going to do next."

Kimmel has become very familiar with the interplay between her Christian faith and her dedication to soccer, holding a starting role on the varsity girls soccer team for three years at Valor Christian High in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She and her team have traveled to Costa Rica to build houses for those in need of shelter around the town of Tamarindo and have upheld a legacy of success at Valor Christian that has resulted in seasons with winning records for the past decade-plus in the girls soccer program.

The VCHS Eagles went to multiple CHSAA State playoffs with Kimmel as a starting midfielder, and finished the 2018 season as the No. 12-ranked team in Colorado according to MaxPreps.com after advancing all the way to the 4A State Championship match.

In addition to her success with the Eagles, Kimmel has played club soccer for over 10 years and has served as a captain for her Colorado Rapids club team for the past three. She is a member of Valor Christian's Visual Arts Conservatory and maintains standing in the National Honors Society.

Kimmel plans to major in studio art at Biola with a concentration in photography and will be part of the cohort that will eventually study in the soon-to-be renovated Bardwell Hall.

Kiki Kimmel and Biola Women's Soccer are scheduled to host Chico State at Al Barbour Field on September 3 to officially open the 2020 season. More information on the incoming 2020-21 class that will join her at Biola can be found on the Committed Athletes page.
