Announcement for Stephanie Lee as PacWest Freshman of the Week

Eagles Keep Moving Up

Stephanie Lee earns PacWest Freshman of the Week honors again as Biola Women’s Basketball moves into the West Region rankings.

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola Women's Basketball's win over Point Loma garnered the Eagles some positive attention across the West Region on Monday. 


Biola was ranked No. 10 in the latest NCAA DII West Region poll ranked by the region's sports information directors after Head Coach Alan Nakamura's group became the second team in the PacWest to earn 10 conference win this year. The Eagles used a massive 32-to-0 run across the first and second quarter against the Sea Lions to take a 44-22 lead into halftime and will start the week in a tie for third place in the conference.

Freshman guard Stephanie Lee was instrumental in the win for Biola and scored 15 of her new career-high 26 points during the Eagles' historic run. Lee was also named PacWest Freshman of the Week on Monday, earning the honor for the fifth time this season after averaging 17 points a game over Biola's 1-1 week. 

She went 7-for-11 from beyond the three-point arc to move into the top-five in the conference for made three-pointers with 45 and played an average of 30 minutes a game as Biola's sixth-player. Lee also pulled down a total of nine rebounds and recorded six assists on the week. 

The Eagles look to bounce back after Saturday's loss to No. 16 Azusa Pacific with two PacWest road games this week. Biola will play Holy Names in Oakland on Thursday before facing Academy of Art in San Francisco on Saturday.
