LA MIRADA, Calif. --- After the pitching staff posted a 1.31 ERA during Biola's 5-0 week, pitchers Andrew Beauvais and Larson Kindreich earned PacWest weekly awards on Monday.

Beauvais was named PacWest Freshman of the Week after throwing five innings without allowing an earned run last week. The Claremont, California-native also earned a win over his two appearances and surrendered just two hits while striking out four. 

This is first weekly honor of Beauvais' collegiate career and the first Freshman of the Week award for Biola Baseball since Kindreich took the award on April 29, 2019. 

Speaking of Kindreich the left-hander set a number of new marks after his best outing of the season this past Friday. Larson Kindreich because the NCAA-Era program record holder for total strikeouts with 107 and set a new career-high for strikeouts in a game with 15 in seven shutout innings this past Friday against UC Colorado Springs 

Kindreich is now ranked second among NCAA DII pitchers with 35 strikeouts this season. And as a result of the pinpoint control Kindreich displayed in the start, he became the first baseball or softball pitcher ever in the PacWest to earn back-to-back-to-back Pitcher of the Week awards. Unfortunately, the run will end at three awards because Biola is off this week. But Kindreich is already well within striking distance of setting another new mark for most Pitcher of the Week awards in a season (the current record being four). 

"It was a special outing for Larson. To continue to build off of what he does each week and have a start like that is special to see. His preparation is at another level right now," said Head Coach Jeff Calhoon. "And Andrew had a good weekend too. He did a great job in his first collegiate start on Saturday and he's really coming into his own as he continues to develop in our system.

"Overall, I'm also really pleased with the work our entire pitching staff tuned in this weekend. They attacked hitters well and got big outs when they needed to. Coach Ben Corody is doing a great job with their mindset and preparation and I'm looking forward to seeing how they continue to mature as a group."
