HOUSTON --- As young as she is, Brooke Braham's extensive volleyball experience might be what is most helpful to her as she transitions to the college game.
A three-year varsity player at Clear Lake High School and a member of Houston Stellar volleyball club's 17 Premier team, Braham brings sheer volume of playing time and familiarity with key roles in big moments. The outside hitter averaged about 100 sets played per season across three years of competition with the Clear Lake Falcons, culminating in an appearance in the 6A Regional tournament in November.
Braham also earned a third-place finish at the Texas Championship Series with her 17 Premier team earlier in the year and competed in the Silver Bracket of the SCVA Las Vegas Classic.
It was certainly true that the more Braham played, the sharper she became. After finishing third on Clear Lake's leaderboard for kills as a sophomore and second as a junior, Braham took a huge leap forward as a centerpiece in the attack as a senior. Compared to the year prior, the future Eagle increased her kill total by 117 in 23 fewer sets and finished third in the entire district in that stat category.
Braham collected 20 kills or more four times and recorded double-digit kills in every match but three last season on the way to All-District 24-6A first team honors. She added that to second team all-district recognition as a junior and finished her time with the Falcons with a total of 677 kills and 354 digs.
When she enrolls at Biola, Braham plans to pursue a BS in nursing and hopes to become a pediatric nurse. She's also excited to join an Eagles volleyball program that will push her to get better on the floor and support her character development.
"I chose Biola because the coaches and players are so welcoming and kind. I really felt at home as soon as I stepped onto campus," said Braham. "I am very excited to grow as a player and become closer with my teammates when I go to Biola."
Brooke Braham will join the Eagles before the 2021 fall season. More information on the rest of the student-athletes that will join her at Biola in 2021-22 can be found on the
