FRESNO, Calif. --- The opportunity Biola Baseball presented Rylan Greenlee was too good to pass up for the left-handed hitting outfielder. 

After winning two league titles with baseball powerhouse Fresno City College, Greenlee decided to forgo his final season with the Rams in order to join the Biola Eagles in their first season of NCAA postseason eligibility. He will begin classes at Biola on January 13 and brings a strong academic track record that earned him Academic All-State honors at Fresno City

"Rylan is a left-handed power bat that has the potential to be special in our program: he is strong, athletic, and can play all three outfield positions if needed," said Head Coach Jeff Calhoon. "He comes from a high-quality junior college program and played for a close friend of our coaching staff this past year. We are excited to have him join us this spring in our first year as a coaching staff!"

Before helping the Rams go 33-14 and qualify for the CCCAA NorCal Super Regional in 2019, Greenlee was a four year varsity starter at Clovis East High School. He served as a team captain for three seasons and was named an all-conference selection and city/county all star after hitting .315 with 31 RBI's and three homeruns. 

Greenlee was also a SAAC member with the Timberwolves and garnered multiple academic honors with his 3.93 GPA, including high honors distinction at graduation and Fresno Bee Valley Scholar Athlete of the Year nomination. 

He plans to prepare for career in sports media or in the front office of a sports organization with a business administration degree and is excited to jump right into things with his new teammates:

"I still had one season of eligibility left at my junior college. But after meeting the coaches and players at Biola, I decided to join them for this upcoming 2020 season," said Greenlee. "I am excited to immerse myself in the rich community and grow with my teammates on and off the field."

The Eagles' 2020 season begins on January 31 with a doubleheader at home against Cal State Monterey Bay. More information on the incoming class that will arrive at Biola in Fall 2020 can be found on the Committed Athletes page.
