Baseball Announces Upcoming Camps

The Biola Baseball coaching staff announces dates for team camps and prospect camps through the rest of 2019.

September 04, 2019

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Head Coach Jeff Calhoon and the Biola Baseball coaching staff will open up Eagles Diamond for several team camps and prospect camps this coming semester, with the earliest opportunity coming this weekend.

"These camps are imperative to the recruiting process for our program. We find great success in recruiting and finding the right student-athletes through the team and prospect camps," said Coach Calhoon regarding the increase in baseball camps on campus. "Once the student-athletes get on Biola's campus and see what an amazing place it is, these weekends really help campers determine if they fit our program.

"I am also excited about being a larger part of the La Mirada community through our youth camps and to begin helping build up future Eagles!"

Team camps will be open to high school baseball teams looking to benefit from a weekend of round-robin games at a collegiate facility. Each team camp will have four openings, affording each team three games over the camp, and a pro-style workout led by the Biola coaching staff on Saturday morning. Cost of attendance for an entire team over the two-day camps is $1000.

The first opportunity to participate in a team camp at Biola University is this weekend (September 7 through 8) with additional 2019 dates available every weekend of September, two weekends in November and one in December. The December team camp will take place over three days and feature an eight-tournament format.  A full list of camps can be at the Biola Baseball Camps landing page.

Registration for the team camps is open immediately and is also available at the Biola camps page. Any additional questions can be directed to Assistant Coach Ben Cordy at his contact page or at benjamin.cordy@biola.edu.

Biola Baseball is also offering its first prospect camp of the fall on Saturday October 27. This camp is intended for high schoolers to junior college sophomores who want to showcase their skills and receive instructions from college coaches. While they take part in pro-style workouts and live-game situations on Eagles Diamond, campers will also learn all that Biola University and the Biola baseball program has to offer developing student-athletes.

Registration for the first prospect camp is also open immediately at the Biola camps page and any questions can also be directed to Coach Cordy.
