OMAHA, Neb. --- Shortstop Zac Luckey is well aware of how hard the playoff road can be for baseball. The NCAA DI Baseball's "Road To Omaha" culminates in Luckey's hometown in the last weeks of June every year and the Omaha-native has hit the road multiple times for tournaments like the American Legion World Series that took him to Shelby, North Carolina in high school. 

Appropriately enough, Luckey will be trying to work his way back to North Carolina for the NCAA DII Championships as he joins the Biola Eagles beginning in 2019-20 after stints at Nebraska and Chaffey College. 

Luckey played in 15 games as a freshman for Darin Erstad's Huskers squad, making starts at short and third while collecting 13 hits and scoring eight runs. His freshman campaign came on the heels of a very successful period at Creighton Prep for Luckey, where he won a State Championship with the Jays as a junior shortstop and appeared in the All-Nebraska second team. He was also a two-time Regional MVP, earned two nominations to the Legion World Series All-Tournament team and was a two-year starter on the Creighton Prep football team.

But after a year at Nebraska, Luckey felt that moving west would serve him better as a baseball player and in his commitment to his faith. He played this past season at Chaffey College where he scored 20 runs and stole 16 bases in 18 attempts and enrolled in his initial classes at Biola this summer as he progresses toward a degree in business administration. 

Luckey characterized Biola as a "dream school" in his personal announcement about his commitment on Twitter and is excited to join a community that is committed to helping him develop his baseball and business acumen under God's guidance:

"I chose Biola because I wanted to dive deeper into my relationship and knowledge of God while being immersed in a community that will encourage me to advance the Kingdom everywhere I go," said Luckey.
