HOUSTON --- Let the record show, the list of forwards moving from New Orleans to LA this summer includes NBA All-Star Anthony Davis AND Biola Women's Basketball commit Jana Thomas-Reid. Thomas-Reid joins Head Coach Alan Nakamura's after playing her freshman season at University of New Orleans, where she appeared in 21 games for the Privateers.

The 6-2 forward's connection to the NBA goes beyond the coincidental tie to the current NBA headlines, as her father Robert Reid was a 15-year NBA veteran who made multiple NBA Finals with the Houston Rockets. Thomas-Reid left a mark of her own in Houston after playing three varsity seasons at Benjamin O. Davis High School, where she earned team MVP and Second Team All-District honors.

Thomas-Reid averaged 9.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocks as a senior at Davis High after averaging 6.0 points and posting seven double-digit scoring games as a junior.

She also has a great grasp for art and story-telling that she'll apply to her academics as a Cinema and Media Arts major at Biola.Thomas-Reid enjoys painting, photography, acting and poetry and earned first and third place at her District Film Competition in her junior and senior years, respectively. She hopes to go onto become a director/filmmaker and is optimistic for how her time at Biola will help her develop her skill sets on and off the court:

"I chose Biola because the school offers an amazing education, along with many opportunities in the Cinema and Media Arts program, and because of the beautiful community and their love for God," said Thomas-Reid. "I am more than excited about joining the team and their culture; I hope I can be a great asset."
