CORONA, Calif. --- Brandon and Carson Cody will add their names to a growing list of brothers that have played on the Biola baseball team at the same time when Carson starts at the University this coming fall.

The Codys will be the fourth pair of brothers to play on the same Eagles team in the last decade. Two of those pairs were on the roster over the last two years with Micah and Christian Beyer in 2018 and Honus and Larson Kindreich both taking the mound for Biola last season.

Carson Cody will give the Eagles another arm on the mound with a lot of upside after he took a big jump in his senior season at Woodcrest Christian High School. After doing a bit more with his bat than his arm in his first to years on varsity, Cody had a 2.21 ERA in 11 appearances this season and posted a 4-2 record. He collected 46 strikeouts in just 38 innings of work while the Royals won his last six starts of the year.

Those numbers earned Cody All-Ambassador League recognition and helped the Royals finish 10-2 in league after winning the league championship in his first two years on varsity.

Carson will be a communications major at Biola and hopes his time with the Eagles will lay the groundwork for him to play the highest level of baseball that he can. Having watched his brother's experience in an Eagles uniform, he knows a bit about what his time at Biola will mean for him:

I am excited to strengthen my relationship with the Lord while receiving a quality education," said Cody. "I am also excited to play again, on the same team as my brother Brandon."
