LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola Women's Basketball looked really good for long stretches of its two wins at home last week, playing a great first half against Alaska Anchorage and husting wire to wire against Cal State San Bernardino to defeat the Coyotes 63-29. That margin of victory and the points allowed each new set NCAA-era records for the Women's Basketball program but the thing the Eagles may be most proud of is that they forced the Coyotes to have the same number of points and turnovers in the contest. 

Junior Jazz Benn crossed the 20-point threshold for the first time this season in Saturday's win while Danita Estorga scored in double figures for the fourth-consecutive game this season. The Eagles as a team collected 25 steals this week, leading them to the best turnover-margin in the conference (8.25) and the most overall steals in the conference at 51 two weeks into the season.

Biola plays an exhibition on Tuesday against the NCAA DI Toreros, who have started their non-conference schedule 2-0. San Diego is coming off a 70-59 win over Air Force this past Saturday, posting 11 steals and four double-digit scorers. Forward Leticia Soares led the team with 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench while the Toreros are shooting 43.2 percent from the field as a team. 

The Eagles happen to be 8-1 all-time in countable contests against San Diego, winning the first eight meetings between the two teams that started back in 1983. General admission for the game at the Jenny Craig Pavilion is $10 and tickets can be purchased online.

On Saturday the Eagles will travel just down Rosecrans Ave to face their former GSAC conference team in a countable contest for both sides. The Royals have started the season 7-0 and are 6-0 at home while averaging over 80 points per game. Hope was picked to finish sixth in the GSAC preseason poll, behind four teams who started the season ranked in the NAIA Top-25. Like Biola, the Royals get a bunch of steals per game. But HIU also lives and dies by the three, so it will be interesting to see what the Royals are able to accomplish against an NCAA DII defense that is on a roll.
