Biola is 13-0 all-time against the Argos, including a perfect 3-0 in the PacWest Conference era. The Eagles took a 3-1 win in 2017 and then added a pair of sweeps in 2018 to keep that record unblemished. The first meeting between these two sides was all the way back in 1989 and was a 2-1 Biola win. It's been a tough stretch for the Argos, who come into the week with losses in their last 11 matches. NDNU's last win was back in September (9/18) on the road at Dominican. It was a five-set win. Both of the Argos' wins this year have been five-setters (DUC, La Sierra). It's a challenging stretch for NDNU, too, with Biola and Concordia Irvine up in Belmont this weekend and then next week the Argos hit the road to face Azusa Pacific and Point Loma. In last year's matchup at Walter Gleason Gym, Biola came away with a
3-0 victory powered by 53 kills and a hitting percentage near .300. It was a breakout match for
Vanessa Garcia who led the Biola effort with 37 assists in the three-set match.
Sabrina Winslow (11 kills) and
Bekah Roth (3 blocks) were the other standouts among returners from last year.
Rowan Jack was the top performer from NDNU in that one, ending with 11 kills and 11 digs. Jack leads the team in digs-per-set so far this season. She's 10th in the PacWest Conference. Senior middle blocker
Chantal Zahrndt has been the biggest weapon for the Argos this year. She leads the team with 112 kills and a .257 hitting percentage. She had 10 kills in four sets against Holy Names last time out.

BIOLA AT DOMINICAN (1-16, 1-11 PacWest): Saturday Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. \\
Live Stats \\
Live Video ($10)
This is just the fourth all-time meeting between the Eagles and Penguins. Biola is 3-0 in the previous meetings, all coming in the past two seasons. Last season, in La Mirada, the Penguins pushed Biola to five sets in the closest matchup in the two teams' history. The most recent matchup, last season in San Rafael, was a 3-0 Biola win. Dominican's attackers take a lot of swings. The Penguins rank third in the conference and 33rd nationally in attacks-per-set (38.09). The downside is that DUC only converts successfully on about 9.16 of those swings in each set, ranking dead last in kills-per-set. Dominican is hungry for a greater success rate this week against Biola, as the Penguins come into the week with losses in each of its last 10 matches. Dominican's only win this year was a 3-1 victory over Fresno Pacific at home in late-September. The Penguins hit .190 in that match and won the final set 25-20 despite only recording nine kills. Sophomore outside hitter Tiff Wong had 16 kills that night to lead the effort for Dominican. She's only appeared in eight matches this season for the Penguins, but she's had double-digit kills in three of those eight, including a 26-kill outing against Notre Dame de Namur just before the FPU night. Wong should appear in Saturday's match. Prior to the match Saturday, the Penguins host Concordia Irvine on Friday night. Junior libero
Hana Wyles has been having a fine season, ranking third in the conference and top-30 in the nation in digs-per-set at 5.50. She also finished third in the conference in this category last year.

ABOUT LAST WEEK: Biola had an undefeated week to close out season sweeps of both Academy of Art and Holy Names. The Eagles hosted just their second and third home matches of the season and took advantage of the friendly confines to get back above the .500 mark. Biola swept both opponents behind a big offensive week from
Bekah Roth and continued great play from the freshman middles.
Sami Hover compiled 38 digs in the two matches to creep closer to 400 digs on the season.
WINS-WOW: Last week and this week have seen
Sabrina Winslow hit major milestones in her Biola career. The senior topped 150 career blocks and 500 career digs and this week she should top 800 career kills. She sits at 790 and has averaged 7.6 kills-per-match against Dominican/NDNU in her career. She's had especially good numbers against NDNU with double-digit kills in two of three matchups. She's also hovering around 50 career service aces to cap off what's been a tremendous all-around career for the Eagles.
IT'S GO TIME: The 2019 Biola Volleyball season has added significance in that it's the Eagles' first as full members in NCAA Division II. Back on July 12 the Biola campus received a call from the NCAA Division II Membership Committee notifying BU of its successful completion of the membership transition process. The change became official as of September 1 and now Biola is officially eligible for NCAA postseason play, national and regional rankings and official NCAA postseason honors for the first time. With no conference tournament, the Eagles will have to finish in the top-8 in the NCAA Division II West Region rankings to be able to get that first taste of NCAA postseason play.

THE ROAD TO 1,100: Biola Volleyball is 1,086-451 (.707) all-time. Biola's averaged 27 wins-per-year in Head Coach
Aaron Seltzer's 17-year tenure. This year Biola is on pace for a 15-win season. A good season will put Seltzer within striking distance of 500 when the season is all done. He entered 2019 with an all-time coaching mark of 462-139 (.768).
NEXT WEEK: at Concordia Irvine (10-9, 4-7 PacWest) - Friday Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
