Biola went 6-0 in NorCal to improve to 3-1 in PacWest play.

OAKLAND, Calif. --- For the second time in this young season Biola Volleyball has earned itself back-to-back wins by sweep. The Eagles took it to the Holy Names Hawks (25-19; 25-14; 25-21) on Saturday to claim PacWest win number three in just over an hour.

The Eagles completed their first PacWest Conference road trip with a 2-1 mark including today's sweep and yesterday's over Academy of Art. Biola's effort on Saturday was led by some incredible numbers from Sierra Bauder and Bekah Roth.

Bauder's 15 kills is a new Biola season-best in a three-set match. The previous best mark was Christina DenBoer's 12 against Sonoma State two weekends ago. Bauder landed those 15 kills on just 22 attack attempts and made zero hitting errors to set a new season-best with a .682 hitting percentage. She hit .647 (the previous best mark) last night.

Tonight's mark was the Eagles' best single-match hitting percentage since Alyssa Mason hit .737 vs. William Jessup in 2015.

Roth was just as good when she was in the middle for BU. The sophomore had seven kills, hit .467 and had three blocks. Biola had a great afternoon blocking the ball, recording seven total blocks after combining for just eight blocks in its last two matches.

All three sets were relatively competitive at the outset and then went more in favor of the Eagles later on as BU was able to limit errors and Holy Names was not. A big reason Biola was able to make that push was the great work of the back row. The Eagles brought in 67 digs in the three sets. That's the third-highest overall total this season for Biola and 21 more than they had in any other three-setter this year.

Sami Hover led that effort with almost one-third of the team's digs (21). Hannah Van Warmerdam's 13 was second-best, and the senior added seven kills on a good percentage to complete a solid match.

The win pushes Biola to 7-4 (3-1 PacWest) as it prepares to head back for three home matches this upcoming week. The premier matchup of the week is on Monday night as BU hosts an undefeated and nearly-ranked Chaminade (9-0, 3-0 PacWest) team.
