Biola has won the last eight countable matches against the Royals and it undefeated (22-0-2) in 24 all-time meetings with its former conference peer. This is the second non-conference meeting between these two teams in as many years, with the Eagles taking last year's match by a score of 2-1 at Al Barbour Field. Junior Sarah Jeffries scored her first of what would be four game-winning goals for Biola in 2017 in the last meeting with HIU after the Royals tied match in the 53rd minutes. Jeffries mark of four-game winners last year was the second-highest single-season total in program history. This exhibition will count toward HIU's overall record but will not affect the Eagles' record. The Royals are coming off a 3-2 loss to Indiana Wesleyan last week.

BIOLA vs. CSU DOMINGUEZ HILLS (0-0): Thursday Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. \\ Live Stats \\ Live Video
The Eagles and Toros will meet for the third time ever and for the first meeting at Al Barbour Field on Thursday for the start of both team's season. Biola has an 0-1-1 record against CSU Dominguez Hills, with both meetings coming in the 2000's, and will look to even it's all-time record on Thursday against a Toros team that was projected to finish 13th in conference in the CCAA Preseason Poll. CSU Dominguez Hills is coming of a 4-10-2 2017 season in which it scored 20 goals and started out 0-7. The Toros went 0-3 against PacWest teams last year while the Eagles won their only match against a CCAA side, CSU San Marcos at home last September. Two Biola program records are also associated with this contest, as the Eagles are 9-0-1 in their last 10 matches at home (the third-longest streak in program history) and have CSU Dominguez Hills listed as the opponent when Lauren Gregston set the single-match record for most saves when she gloved 14 saves on Sept. 4, 2007.

When they meet on Labor Day weekend, Biola and the Golden Eagles will resurrect what used to be a tradition of preseason meeting between the two sides from 1998 to 2004. The Eagles have a 4-2 record all-time against CSULA but figure this test on the road has the possibility of setting the tone for their season. The Golden Eagles finished as the regular-season runner-up in the CCAA a year ago and were picked third in the Preseason Poll with the return of leading scorer Paulina Chaidez. Chaidez earned CCAA Offensive Player of the Year Honors and was named third-team All-American after collecting 10 goals and two assists for the Golden Eagles a year ago. She is joined by four other players who earned All-Conference honors in 2017 and propelled the Golden Eagles to their third CCAA Tournament semifinal appearance in four years. CSULA will face off with Azusa Pacific two days before taking on Biola, so this opponent should be a good measuring stick to gauge how the Eagles will stack up against the Cougars ahead of the Cornerstone Cup matchup on Oct. 27
