Biola adds to its back row with the addition of CVC's Brooke Hales.

July 16, 2018

TULARE, Calif. --- We're just over a month away from the beginning of the 2018 Biola Volleyball season and the Eagles have another signing to announce. Brooke Hales joins Head Coach Aaron Seltzer's latest roster, adding depth at the defensive specialist position.

Hales is another Central Valley Christian High School student, solidifying that program as a sound feeder school for Seltzer's perennially successful program.

This incoming freshman joins the squad after playing two varsity seasons for the Cavaliers. She played outside hitter in high school and served up 189 kills while gathering 255 digs her senior season. She also had 35 service aces to prove a good all-around game.

She will be used in the back row by Seltzer and could be a good addition to the Eagles' serving rotation, as Biola has to make-up for the graduation of Tess Van Grouw and her 32 aces from 2017.

Hales plans to study psychology and would like a career as a child forensic therapist.

"I chose Biola, because Biola has an amazing Psych program, and after meeting coach Aaron and him deciding to take a chance on me, I knew I found the right place," said Hales.

In high school, Hales found her way onto the honor roll all four years and was a member of the California Scholarship Federation (CSF).

She and the Eagles begin their season on the road with a few tournaments, but open their home schedule with a PacWest Conference match against Fresno Pacific on Sept. 8. The Eagles went 15-5 and finished second in the PacWest last year. Come cheer them on as they look to move up one spot and claim a conference title in 2018.
