LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola University won three national titles and was runner-up in a few others during the 2017-18 National Christian College Athletic Association season, and even while training to be the best in sport Eagles managed to find a way to be among the best in class as well. During its first year back in the NCCAA the Eagles brought in a combined 35 scholar-athlete honors and three scholar team awards.
To be eligible for scholar team honors the team had to maintain a 3.40 grade point average during the semester or semesters when the team competes. Men's Golf represented Biola in the fall, while women's track & field and tennis both received the honor for their efforts in the spring. Women's Tennis led the way with the highest overall team GPA of 3.54.
To earn individual scholar-athlete honors, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.40 on a 4.00 scale. Some scholar-athletes were released earlier this year (fall), but below you will find the full list.
