LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The Biola Eagles have a few pieces of unfinished business at the front of their mind coming into their second season in the PacWest.

Head Coach Alan Nakamura's team had a number of impressive accomplishments last year, including season-series sweeps against four PacWest opponents while recording a winning record in conference and overall. But this year, the Eagles will hope to take another step up to earn a berth in the NCCAA playoffs and hopefully a big will over the Azusa Pacific Cougars in this year's Cornerstone Cup.

Unlike the start to last year's schedule, the Eagles will begin the 2018-19 slate in California and stay in-state for the majority of their contests. Biola will play 18 countable games, including 12 contests against conference opponents, before making its trip to Hawai'i for three games between Jan. 31 and Feb. 4.

In the lead up to the long road trip, the Eagles will get their chance at revenge against Azusa Pacific after the Cougars spoiled the Eagles' attempt at an upset in Chase Gym last February. APU will travel to La Mirada on Friday Dec. 14, the Friday before finals week for the fall semester, for the first installment of the Cornerstone Cup before holding the encore at the Felix Event Center on Saturday Jan. 17.

After a scrimmage and exhibition against Pepperdine and San Diego State, respectively, the Eagles officially open their season at the PacWest/CCAA Challenge on Nov. 9 and 10 against CSU Los Angeles and CSU Dominguez Hills. Four of the next six games will be held at Chase Gym, where the Eagles went 11-8 last season, including the home opener against Tarleton State on Thursday Nov. 15 and Biola's first conference game on Nov. 29 against Notre Dame De Namur.

The PacWest basketball schedules are balanced for the first time this season, meaning that the Eagles will play a game at home and a game on the road against all 11 of their PacWest opponents.

This is also the final season where the Eagles are ineligible for NCAA Postseason competition and the PacWest Conference Tournament. If Biola finishes near the top of the conference standings, the Eagles will be invited to travel to Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana for the NCCAA tournament from March 16 through March 16.
