Multi-Talented George Picks Biola

Kavitha George played three varsity sports at Cerritos High School and brings her desire to serve to Biola.

CERRITOS, Calif. --- During her time at Cerritos High School, Kavitha George made a concerted effort to maximize her talents.

George excelled three varsity sports for the Dons, earning three all-league recognitions in soccer, and taught herself how to play multiple instruments. She's even taken it upon herself to use her love for soccer to benefit others, as she has coached Cerritos Special Olympics soccer teams to tournament medals in the past two years.

All those accomplishments have directed George to Biola University and the Eagles' women's soccer program, where Head Coach Erin Brunelle and the rest of the team hope to support her development as a player and person.

"Kavitha has raw talent that we are looking forward to developing over the next four years," said Brunelle. "She is athletic and creative on the ball, and looks to combine with the players around her in the attack. She will definitely be someone her teammates can rely on to set up goals or finish cleanly. We can't wait to bring Kavitha into the Biola community, for her to grow in her relationship with the Lord and to share in the many ways God has shaped her over the past few years."

In addition to playing soccer for the Dons, George was also a track & field athlete and tennis player during her time at Cerritos HS. She was a varsity athlete in all three sports by the time she was a sophomore and reached league finals her junior and senior year in singles tennis and jumps, respectively.

Her accomplishments in soccer include a varsity Rookie of the Year honor as a freshman, a Offensive Player of the Year award as a junior and an MVP recognition her senior year to go along with the aforementioned selections to All-Suburban League teams.

George plans to major in business administration at Biola and is optimistic about how the University might help her grow as a person.

"I chose Biola because I feel like it's a crucial part of God's plan forward for me," said George. "I feel a good presence when I'm there and know that this environment will foster both academic and spiritual growth to help me serve and impact the world around me with the talents He has gifted me with."

George will join her new teammates in August as the Eagles prepare for their second season in the PacWest Conference. More information about all of Biola's incoming student-athletes can be found on the Committed Athletes page.
