May 05, 2018

FULLERTON, Calif. --- Biola Track & Field added a few last chance meets to its schedule in an effort to get all possible participants qualified for NCCAA Nationals next week. The last of those last chances came Saturday as the team went down the road to compete at the CSU Fullerton Titan Twilight Track & Field meet.

The Eagles had a lot of strong performances on this final, final day of the regular season. Gabriel Igbokwe once again earned an event win with his jump of 13.45m in the triple jump.

Ryan St. Pierre managed a second-place finish in the men's 5,000m race with his time of 14:58. On the women's side of that same event, Jessica Cody was the only on to finish the 5k. She recorded a time of 18:02.30.

Paige LaBare put up a pair of top-10 finishes in her sprint events, finishing fifth with a career-best 200m time of :25.16. She finished eighth in her 100m race with a :12.29.

Stephanie Croy ran the 3,000m steeplechase for the fourth time this season and finished second in the day's final event with her time of 11:53.59.

The event to feature the most Eagles was the women's 800m race. Kaitlyn Natividad led the way with her career-best time of 2:20.03 and a third-place finish. Shannon Howell and Mackenna Mason both finished inside of the top-6 and were within two seconds of Natividad's time.

Finally, Anna Maumalanga had another strong weekend with the discus. She topped 40 meters again and finished third with her toss of 40.35m.

Biola hops on a plane Tuesday morning to head to the 2018 National Christian College Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The competition in Winona Lake, Indiana begins Thursday and concludes Friday.
