GLENDALE, Ariz --- Lindsay Gerle has played wherever her team has needed her during high school and has always seemed to find success. A two-time 4A West Valley All-Region player for Greenway High School in Arizona, Gerle will join Head Coach Erin Brunelle's team at the outside back position she has been stationed at for her ENCL club team.

"Lindsay's experience playing in the ECNL will help her transition well to the college game.  She is fast, physical, and attacks well out of the back," said Head Coach Erin Brunelle. 'She matches up well against some of our strongest attackers, and we look forward to helping her adjust to the physicality and pace of the college game.  Lindsey has a very calm demeanor and is very mature in her faith. She will mesh well with our team in her heart to serve others and in keeping everything she says and does centered on the Lord."

The Eagles already hard-working defense will benefit from the experience in attacking third of someone like Gerle, who was named the 4A West Valley Region Offensive Player of the Year as a midfielder for Greenway HS this past season. Gerle was named second-team all-region at the forward position as a junior and is gearing up for the second half of her club season with Senero SC ENCL.

Gerle has a record of 7-1-1 with her club team this season and has played 14 years of club soccer.

Gerle plans to study psychology while at Biola and currently has a 3.80 GPA. She was named the Optimist Student of the Month this past January in recognition of her academic success and her leadership on the varsity soccer team as the Demon's captain.

That leadership is indicative of the calm demeanor and mature faith Brunelle and the Eagles coaching staff saw in Gerle. Brunelle believe Gerle will mesh well with her new team because of her heart to serve others and because of her desire to keep everything she says and does centered on the Lord.

"I personally made attending a Christian college a priority," said Gerle. "And  I have heard nothing but positive feedback about [Biola's] campus, campus size, location, and strong Christian community."
