White Named NCCAA All-American

DeMoria White is a All-America First-Team selection in the NCCAA and West Region Player of the Year.

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- After leader her to team to an 11-5 record in the 2018 calendar year to conclude the season, senior point guard DeMoria White was selected to the NCCAA All-America First-Team on Thursday.


White is the only West Region representative on the first-team after she was named West Region Player of the Year and established herself as the West's best scorer in the NCCAA ranks.

She was at the top of the regional leaderboard in points per game (18.9) and made three-pointers (92) and finished in the top-five in the NCCAA national rankings for both those categories.

"Mori is one of the smartest players to come through Biola," said Head Coach Alan Nakamura. "She is a committed Christian, a serious student, and has wise perspective. Her love for the game is obvious as she has worked to improve a different aspect of her game over each off-season. She is an excellent competitor, a clutch player, and has been at the center of numerous come-from-behind victories during her time at Biola. "

White had three 30-point games this season and scored 20 or more in 14 of the Eagles' 26 contests. This season she also climbed into sixth place in Biola's career scoring list with 1,631 points and became the program's all-time leader for made three-pointers in a career with 241. She was also joined on the West all-region team by freshman Jazz Benn, who averaged 9.2 points during her first collegiate season and scored in double figures 13 times.

The Eagles finished their first season in NCAA Division II and the PacWest conference with an encouraging record of 14-12, 11-9 PacWest.
