Baseball Rain Out

Series Opener Suspended

Rain has stalled the first game of Biola's series with Hawai'i Hilo

March 01, 2018

HILO, Hawai'i --- The Biola Eagles and University of Hawai'i at Hilo Vulcans were only able to play one and a half innings on Thursday before the rain finally flushed them out.

Play was suspended with the Vulcans holding a 1-0 in the bottom of the second inning and will be resumed at 5 p.m. (PT) on Friday. The Vulcans will also have the bases loaded when they return to the field.

Rained pushed back the start of the game about 25 minutes and caused a second lengthy delay in the bottom of the first inning. Biola's starter Christian Hammar returned to finish the first inning and struck out the final batter of the inning to strand a man on third.

After the completion of the suspended game, Friday's previously scheduled game is scheduled to start at 9:00 p.m. (PT). There is a 70 percent chance of rain in Hilo on Friday.
