TEMECULA, Calif. --- Christine Goodman has had a lot of practice in big playoff moments during her high school soccer career. The forward won a CIF Southern Section Regional Championship last season with Temecula Valley High School and has been going to national tournaments with the prestigious Legends FC club team for the past five years.

That experience has developed Goodman into a poised and self-assured attacker who looks to be an impact forward for the Biola Eagles after she arrive in Fall 2019.

"Christine is a dynamic, confident attacker, who will help us both in the wide areas and in front of goal," said head Coach Erin Brunelle. "Her ability to take players on in the attacking third will create numerous opportunities for our team to score. As she adapts to the defensively responsibilities we place on our attackers, she will by no small measure become another strong attacker for our program."

Goodman's Temecula Valley girls' soccer team is coming off a 25-6-2 record in her junior season in which the Bears went undefeated in 20 matches from January 4 to March 10 to win the Southwestern League Championship and CIF-SS Regional Championship. Goodman was named an all-conference player as a junior in addition to receiving the "Outstanding Achievement in Athletic-Academic" award for the third-straight year. She currently carries a 4.2 GPA into her final months of high school and her last season with the Bears.

During her time with Legends FC, Goodman has competed in three US Youth Soccer National League tournaments and won a Cal South National Cup State Championship this year while Goodman served as team captain.

"Christine's teams have had success at both the club and high school level, for which she is grateful and blessed to be a part of both programs," said Brunelle. "We look forward to adding her competitive mentality to our squad as she is hungry to learn and grow as a player."

Goodman plans to major in elementary education at Biola in hopes of becoming a teacher. Her Christian faith is also a central aspect of her life and played a big part in her decision to commit to Biola.

"I was searching for a school that would help strengthen my relationship with the Lord, provide a biblically centered education, and compete at a high level athletically," said Goodman. "God paved the way to Biola. When I stepped onto campus I knew this special place was exactly where I was meant to be. I'm so excited to pursue my soccer career at Biola and become a part of its Christ-centered community."
