HONOLULU, Hawaii --- Biola Volleyball's pipeline to Hawaii is growing twice its size with the addition of defensive specialist Brie Nishimura. Nishimura will join Saramasina Docktor as one of two Hawaii-based members of the 2019 squad.

Nishimura joins Head Coach Aaron Seltzer's program following four years of varsity volleyball at Hawaii Baptist Academy. She helped her team win the division II state championship in 2015 and was an honorable mention on the state tournament team in 2015, '16 and '17.

"I chose Biola because the community on campus is like a home away from home," said Nishimura. "I am so excited to play alongside girls who love God and can help me grow as an athlete and person."

In addition to playing at HBA, Nishimura was involved with the Spike & Serve Volleyball Club. In her spare time she enjoys painting and drawing.

She made the honor roll all four years during high school and plans to major in education at Biola, with hopes of a career as a special education teacher.
