MILL CREEK, Wash. --- Head Coach Aaron Seltzer met Dominique Kirton when she was 10-years-old and he was recruiting her older sister, Joclyn Kirton, to come play volleyball at Biola.

Joclyn did indeed end up playing for the Eagles and had a remarkable four-year career and then went on to be an All-American basketball player at BU, too. Now, it's Dominique's turn.

Seltzer vividly remembers a time he had lunch with the Kirton family almost seven years ago and Dominique was there too. He calls it "surreal" that he now has a chance to coach the younger Kirton sister.

He calls Dominique "crazy athletic" and is excited to add the outside hitter from King's High School in Shoreline, Washington.

"I am looking forward to seeing what she can do over her time here," said Seltzer. "We love the family. We think she's a perfect fit for us. It's surreal that she'll be here with us."

Kirton is a three-time all-league player, a league MVP, an all-state player, and she led her team to a state championship during her junior year of high school. She's a member of the National Honor Society, is a scholar-athlete and has made the honor roll all four years of high school.

In addition to volleyball accolades, Kirton was an all-conference basketball player during her high school career. Perhaps that gives Head Coach Alan Nakamura some ideas for his 2022-23 roster?

"I chose Biola because I had always heard great things about the volleyball program, campus and the love for Christ that the students and staff all share," said Kirton. "I am super excited for the competitive collegiate volleyball experience and to get to know all of the girls on the team and in my 2019 class!"
