LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Sophomore Sami Hover earned her first PacWest Defender of the Week honors this past week thanks to a pair of tremendous efforts in wins over Azusa Pacific and Dominican.

Hover accumulated 62 digs in the 10 sets Biola played to lead the conference for the week and take over the conference lead in digs on the season (318). Hover set a new career-best with 35 digs in the Eagles' friday night win over Dominican.

"Sami has been phenomenal all year," said Head Coach Aaron Seltzer. "I feel like she flies under the radar all the time because she's just so solid that it gets lost among everybody. She's our rock defensively and has done a really great job stepping up and stealing the show this year."

Her 62 digs in a two-match span is the most ever by a Biola libero in back-to-back matches.

Her award makes it four consecutive weeks with a Biola Volleyball student-athlete earning a conference weekly honor.

The Eagles are in Hawaii this week for a Tuesday night match vs. Chaminade, Wednesday night match at Hawaii Pacific and a Friday evening match at Hawaii Hilo.
