Biola Adds Setter From Missouri

Volleyball signs young setter with a lot of potential.

January 09, 2018

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. --- Volleyball has sent setter Abby Brewster all around the club volleyball circuit surrounding Lee's Summit, Missouri during her high school career and even gave her the opportunity to train internationally in Germany for three months just last year. Come the 2018 season, volleyball will give Brewster the chance to travel even more as a setter for a Biola Eagles team that looks to replicate the success it had in 2017.
'
"We've very excited to add Abby because she brings more center depth for us," said Seltzer. "She is a converted outsider hitter at the setter position who can do a lot of things. We love her personality and leadership skills and believe the time she has played at other positions will continue to help her development as a setter."

Brewster intends to study Kinesiology at Biola and use that training as a stepping stone toward a coaching or athletic training career down the line. But she wants to play volleyball as long as she can in the meantime and hopes to return to Europe to play professionally after tearing it up for the Eagles.

"I really enjoyed the team dynamic and the girls on the team when I visited," said Brewster. "I loved all the things that Biola offers, including its location and the way it helps students love Jesus."

Brewster will arrive in August for fall practices and will start classes in September.
