Women’s Soccer Adds Another Honor

United Soccer Coaches names Madyson Brown a Scholar All-West Region student-athlete.

December 08, 2017

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The success of the 2017 women's soccer team continued on Friday as defender Madyson Brown was named a second-team Scholar All-West Region player by United Soccer Coaches.

This is the seventh academic award the Head Coach Erin Brunelle's team has collected this season. Brown and five of her teammates were named NCCAA Scholar-Athletes on Nov. 26.

United Soccer Coaches makes Scholar All-Region selections for each College Division based on a prestigious combination of success on the pitch and in the classroom. Student-Athletes must maintain a 3.30 GPA, start at least 50 percent of their team's matches and collect playing honors like all-conference selections to demonstrate that they are an elite player.

Brown earned a number of playing honors this season, including recognition as the NCCAA Player of the Year and the Most Outstanding Player in the NCCAA Championships. Brown was one of three Eagles to earn All-PacWest and NCCAA All-American honors, and was one of four to make an appearance on the All-Tournament team at the NCCAA Women's Soccer Championships.

Biola will return to practices early in the Spring semester before returning to Al Barbour Field in September for the start of the 2018 season.
