KISSIMMEE, Fla. --- As the winner of pool C in the NCCAA Women's Soccer National Championships, the Biola Eagles earned the No. 2 seed in Friday's semifinal match.
 
The Eagles will take on No. 3 seed Concordia Ann Arbor, who also went 2-0 in their pool after defeating No. 8 Ottawa (Ariz.) 3-1 and No. 5 Southwestern Assemblies of God 5-1.
 
The Cardinals came into the tournament with a 12-9 record and were named NCCAA Midwest Region Co-Champions with Indiana Wesleyan after the final between those two schools was rained out.
 
Concordia Ann Arbor has scored 44 goals on the season while allowing 33 and has won many of their matches by pulling ahead early in the first half and maintaining the status quo through the final 45 minutes. The Cardinals have scored 22 first-half goals this season while conceding 11 to their opponents.
 
CUAA was led into the tournament by junior striker Julia Palushaj, who has collected 16 goals this season after giving her team the early 1-0 lead over Southwestern Assemblies of God on Wednesday. Palushaj set the freshman record in the program with 14 goals in 2014 and followed that mark with 17 goals in 2015. It remains to be seen if Palushaj will play today after aggravating a previous injury in Wednesday's match.
 
Biola has impressed the rest of the tournament field in its first two matches. The Eagles have brought with them to Florida all the skills that made them successful in their first season as an NCAA Division II member: firm control of possession and physicality at both ends of the pitch that have allowed Biola to impose its will during the first two matches.
 
The Eagles also have tremendous depth in the offensive half that should help them significantly during their third match in five days. Biola's five goals have been scored by five separate individuals who have all made the most of the openings their teammates have created. And all 11 players on the pitch have the ability to step up to opposing attackers and win possession, resulting in six-consecutive shutouts for Biola headed into today's match.
 
The Eagles have not conceded a goal since PacWest Conference Champion, California Baptist, scored a goal midway through the first half in an eventual 1-1 tie on Oct. 23.
