Box Score 2 AZUSA, Calif. --- The ball was simply not bouncing in the favor of Biola during its Thursday doubleheader at Azusa Pacific, losing in walk-off fashion in the opener and committing 10 errors in a big loss in game two.

Sometimes teams just have bad days, and today happened to be one of the very few for this No. 16 Biola team, losing 1-2 in the opener and 1-8 in game two.

Game one looked like a Biola victory all game long as
Reba DePriest continued to roll with her shutdown stuff and a lockdown defense behind her. She held the Cougars to just two measly singles into the sixth inning and was backed by a
Selina Sherlin solo shot to be in position for a 1-0 win with just six outs to get.

Those six outs proved to be a bit more difficult than the first 15, as APU got two singles and sandwiched a sacrifice bunt between them to tie the game at one in the bottom of the sixth and then got a two-out walk-off homerun from their nine-spot hitter Renae Chappelle on a 1-2 count to win the game. It was Chappelle's second homerun of the season.

Game two followed a bit of a different script as Biola's offense went stagnant after a first-inning RBI single from
Heather Hall, leaving 10 base runners stranded in their efforts to push home runs throughout the remainder of the game.

Hall and Sherlin both found their way on base throughout the second game, but Biola's five through nine hitters were just 1-of-14 in the nightcap.

The Eagles' defense looked the exact opposite of its sturdy self from game one, committing 10 errors in the second game, which led to six unearned runs for the Cougars.

APU recorded all of its eight runs in the first through fourth innings, scoring 2-1-4-1 to work its way to the seven-run differential.

Biola will need to sweep this sweep under the rug and focus on its next opponent after falling to 26-12 overall with the two losses. Azusa Pacific moves to 24-19. BU is back in action on the road on April 11, facing Hope International (8-39, 0-16 GSAC), who currently occupies last place in the conference.
