Box Score 2 LA MIRADA, Calif. --- It was a day of mixed results for softball, going 1-1 against San Diego Christian, dropping game two after dominating game one. Heading into the matchup, the Hawks had lost their previous five games and the Eagles recorded a loss and a win yesterday against William Jessup. The Eagles and Hawks split the season series with SDC 2-2.

Today the Eagles took game one by a score of 8-0 in a walk-off win ending in the sixth inning. The game was punctuated by three Biola homeruns that got the Eagles to 32 homeruns on the year, breaking the single-season record of 30 that was set in 2006. Game two ended in a loss with a score of 6-1.

After a scoreless first inning in game one,
Iliana Morales recorded her first career homerun in the second inning. She brought home
Ashley Spadt, contributing to her 13-RBI season.

Following the team's 2-0 run in the second,
Reba DePriest struck out the side in the top of the third inning. The Eagles continued their standout defensive performance in the fourth inning, Spadt covering first with a spectacular slide to tag the base and get out number one.
Bria Madrid and
Sarah Stromwall contributed to the defense, catching a foul pop-up and taming a ground ball thrown to first for outs two and three respectively.

The Eagles exploded in the fifth inning with
Brooke Madrid and
Selina Sherlin recording two-run homeruns to bring the team to a 6-0 lead. Madrid had a phenomenal run through the first game, going 3-for-3 with a walk to extend to eight plate appearances without being retired. The big fly marked her second homerun of the season and she now has 16 RBI. Sherlin now leads the team with nine homers.

Kimmy Triolo came in to pitch in the top of the sixth inning, allowing one hit. The Eagles secured the win in the bottom of the sixth when
Kendall Maddox and Sherlin each had RBI singles to the outfield.

The Hawks switched pitchers in game two, but this did not stop
Kasey Hormel from starting the game with an RBI single, bringing
Bria Madrid home to put the Eagles up 1-0 at the bottom of the first.

Biola brought DePriest back in to start the second game. The visiting team got to her with one-run innings in both the third and fourth.

After the Hawks scored another three runs in the sixth inning off a line drive to left field, Triolo replaced DePriest in the circle. She went on to allow one run in the seventh inning to get the game to the 6-1 final score.

"We're testing Reba [DePriest] and seeing how many innings she can go to get her ready for the postseason," said Coleman. "Going forward we'll be continuing to figure out how to build our lineup."

Biola notched its 30
th win of the season on Saturday afternoon, moving to 30-14 (14-6 GSAC). San Diego Christian became 26-18 (9-11 GSAC).
The Eagles look to rebound from the loss in their next series, a home doubleheader against No. 3 Concordia on April 21. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
