Box Score SAN DIMAS, Calif. --- For the second time in about three weeks Biola Volleyball had a chance to face Life Pacific College, which is in its first season as a new program, and for the second time the Eagles ended with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-15) victory in a quick match.
The Eagles finished off the Warriors in just over an hour to improve to 26-3 following the win in their final match of the regular season.
Biola's defense was on point in holding the Warriors to just four kills, eight kills and three kills over the course of the three sets. LPC's total kills tally of 15 was dwarved by the Eagles' 42 kills on .416 hitting.
By the same token the Eagles' setters towered over the opponent's output with 38 assists to just 14 on the other side. In the final regular season match of her career
Ashton Arbuthnot led the way with 18 assists.
The Eagles held LPC to just 10 points in the first set, which marks the fifth time this year that Biola has kept its opponent to 10 or fewer points in a set. Four times its held its opponents to 10, and once it held CSU San Marcos to just seven points in a game.
Leading the way on the attack was
Alyssa Mason with eight kills in another error-free performance. Also contributing well to the BU melee was
Stephanie Jewett's six kills at a crazy .667 clip and
Ally Forsberg who had four kills and got in on a team-high three blocks.
The Eagles' regular season comes to a close with the road victory, but they have the NAIA National Championship Tournament to look forward to. The No. 6 Biola team is likely to earn a spot in the tournament that sends them directly to the final site in Sioux City, Iowa. We will know more in regards to that following this weekend.
