Box Score PHOENIX, Ariz. --- Biola Volleyball bounced back from its first loss of the season with a dominating 3-0 (25-11, 25-22, 25-12) victory over Arizona Christian on Thursday afternoon in Phoenix.
Every aspect of the game was clicking for the Eagles as they made quick work of the ACU Firestorm for the second time this season. Biola's 3-0 win over ACU gives them two sweeps of the Firestorm this season in a total of one hour and 58 minutes of play.
The toughest set of the match was the middle one where Arizona Christian was able to get up to 22 points with a match-high 12 kills and a match-low five attacking errors.
Joclyn Kirton led Biola's attack with 11 kills on just 21 swings in a very efficient performance. She had a great first and third sets sandwiched around a challenging second set, which helped ACU keep things close.
Biola's middle blockers also had a strong night as
Alyssa Mason and
Ally Forsberg combined for 13 kills with just two errors. Every time Forsberg gets into matches she performs well. Her five kills tonight helped her to 63 kills on the season with an outstanding .413 attack percentage.
The Eagles fixed what was their biggest woe last time out by improving their numbers on the serve. Biola got nine service aces, while limiting the Firestorm to just two, and only committed four service errors in this one.
The win helps Biola improve to 16-1 (8-1 GSAC) while Arizona Christian's tough season continued and they dropped to 2-15 (0-9 GSAC).
