Eagles Get Offense In Arizona

Biola scored 18 runs over its three wins in a mid-season Arizona road-trip.

Heather Hall hit her third homerun of the season in a rain-soaked game against Siena Heights.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 Phoenix, Ariz. --- Biola performed well in its rain-shortened weekend in Arizona, picking up three more wins to tack onto its historic start to the 2014 season.

Biola swept Embry-Riddle in a neutral site doubleheader on Friday afternoon, winning the first game 5-1 and the second in a 4-0 shutout over ERAU. On Saturday the Eagles were able to sneak in one of their two scheduled contests at the Tucson Invitational.

After the three wins Biola sits at 15-3 on the season, still without a loss to an unranked NAIA opponent.

CeCe Luster was the star of the first game of Biola's Arizona road trip, going 1-for-3 at the plate while driving in two runs. She also threw four shutout innings in the circle to pick up her seventh win of the season.

Heather Hall had another strong offensive showing with two RBI and her third homerun of the season. Mackenzie Magro got herself into scoring position twice with her ninth and 10th stolen bases of the season.

Biola did all of their damage against Embry-Riddle's starter, Kayla Avram, as they tacked on nine hits and all five runs against the freshman from Corona, Calif.

Statistics from game two are still unavailable, but the sweep of ERAU in Arizona helps Biola grab a 4-0 series sweep of the Eagles.

Biola got in one game as the rain poured down in Tucon on Saturday morning. The Eagles took on the Saints of Siena Heights (Mich.) in one of what was supposed to be two games at the Tucscon Invitational.

Luster again did damage with her bat as she scored two runs and was one of four Eagles to have a multi-hit game as Biola put up a nine-spot on the Saints.

Luster, Hall and both Bria and Brooke Madrid hit doubles in the contest to quickly enhance Biola's run scoring ability as the faced Siena Heights in its season-opener.

Biola was able to squeak away with the win in a six-inning contest despite the inability of the Eagles' pitchers to get the Saints' hitters out as consistently as they would have liked.

Luster and Reba DePriest gave up a season-high of five earned runs in the win.

Biola returns to California to conclude its preseason schedule with a doubleheader against Corban (Ore.) this Wednesday.
