Sarah Enriquez
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola used a late rally and got a walk-off win in a 7-6 win in the second game of the doubleheader against Hamline University (Minn.) after cruising to a 9-1 win in the opener on Wednesday at Freedom Field.

The Eagles improved to 15-20 on the season with their third-straight win while the Pipers fall to 4-6.

Sarah Enriquez was the star of game one for the Eagles, allowing just one run on three hits in the first inning, but retiring the final 15 batters to secure the win.

Hamline got out to a quick lead with a run in the top of the first inning, but Biola battled back in a big way late.

The Eagles finally got on the board in the fourth inning with a three-run inning. Sam Roberts led off with a double and came around to score on a double by Ashley Spadt one out later to tie the game at 1-1. After a pair of walks, Celina Thornton drove home a pair of runs with the Eagles' third double of the inning.

Biola added a pair of runs in the fifth inning as Heather Hall belted a two-run home run to make it 5-1.

The Eagles ended the game with a four runs in the sixth to win via the mercy rule. Hall would add another RBI with a bases-loaded single, then Roberts drove home a pair of runs with a single to map fit 8-1. Spadt then ended the game with a single one out later to give Biola the 9-1 win.

Game two got off to another rocky start for Biola as Hamline came out firing with two runs in the top of the first inning.

Biola got two of those runs back and one more in the bottom of the inning. The Eagles got one run off a Piper error, then added two more on back-to-back RBI singles by Bria Madrid and Spadt.

Hamline would tie the game with a run in the top of the third, but Biola scored two on a two-run home run off the bat of Bria Madrid in the bottom of the inning, going back up 5-3.

The score remained the same until the top of the sixth when Cecily Abbadessa hit a pinch-hit, three-run home run to give the Pipers a 6-5 lead.

Biola again answered back with a run in the sixth, taking advantage of an error to get a run.

After holding the Pipers off the scoreboard in the top of the seventh, the Eagles rally in the bottom of the inning for the win. Spadt led off the inning with a single and was sacrificed to second by Coleman. A walk and a hit batter loaded the bases, and--one out later--Brooke Madrid singled through the left side to bring home Roberts with the winning run.

Sarah Enriquez picked up the win in both games to improve to 12-11.

Biola returns to action on Thursday, hosting Simpson University in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Freedom Field.
