Brooke Madrid
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Biola got back to its winning ways with a dominating showing on Friday afternoon, beating La Sierra University 6-1 and 13-2 in a non-conference doubleheader at the LSU Softball Field.

The wins snapped the Eagles' seven-game losing streak as they improve to 4-8 on the season. The Golden Eagles drop to 1-7 overall.

Brooke Madrid and Heather Hall paced the offense, going 5-for-8 and 4-for-6 respectively, lead Biola's offense to 26 hits and 19 runs in 13 innings.

Biola got off to a quick start in game one, scoring twice in the first inning thanks to an RBI double by CeCe Luster and a run-scoring single by Ashley Spadt.

The Eagles got an unearned run in the third with Brooke Madrid driving home the third run of the game. They would add another in the fifth inning as Luster led the inning off with a single and came around to score on a single by Celina Thornton to make it 4-0.

Biola broke it open with two in the seventh thanks to Brooke Madrid's two-run triple to make it 6-0.

The Golden Eagles were able to single across a two-out run in the bottom of the seventh, but Biola held on for the 6-1 win.

Luster was fantastic on the mound, allowing one run on five hits over seven innings to improve to 2-3 on the year. She struck out five without walking a batter.

In the second game, Biola erupted for four runs in the second inning with Chelsea Limm driving in one with a sacrifice fly and Iliana Morales driving home two more with a two-run double.

The Eagles added another pair in the third on a wild pitch and an RBI-single by Sarah Stromwall to make it 6-0.

Two more runs came across for Biola in the top of the fifth on an error by the Golden Eagles. La Sierra fought off the mercy rule with two in the bottom of the fifth, but the Eagles tallied five in the top of the sixth to put the game out of reach. Brooke Madrid, Limm and Stromwall each added RBIs in the final inning.

Sarah Enriquez picked up the win in relief, allowing two runs on five hits over 5-2/3 innings while striking out seven.

Biola returns to action on Saturday, hosting No. 1 Cal State San Marcos in a non-conference doubleheader at Freedom Field beginning at 12:00 p.m. This will be the first official games at Biola's renovated home field.
