BOX SCORE
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. --- Despite outshooting Menlo College 19-4, Biola was unable to come up with an elusive goal, falling 1-0 to Menlo in a non-conference game at the Oregon Tech Classic on Monday afternoon in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
The loss was the Eagles first of the season as they fall to 2-1-0 overall. The Oaks improve to 2-0-0.
Biola held a strong advantage on offense, outshooting Menlo 8-0 in the first half and 11-4 in the second. However, Menlo was able to get the lead in the only stat that mattered: the score. Ryanne Berrgstrom was able to score a goal in the game's 74th minute and the Menlo defense made the score stand up for the victory.
The Eagles had three players record three shots each with Caitlin Peterson notching two shots on net. Natalie Wolf had a pair of shots in just three minutes of action late in the match.
Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Gregston allowed her first goal of the season after consecutive shutouts to start the season. Paige Cruz picked up the win for Menlo making five saves in the second half, taking over from Samantha Hoffart who started the game and made a pair of saves in the first half.
Biola closes out the Classic on Tuesday afternoon taking on host Oregon Tech at 7:00 p.m.
