BOX SCORE

EL CAJON, Calif. --- The Biola women's soccer team suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss at San Diego Christian on Saturday afternoon in its final match of the 2008 season.

The match was an extremely physical one with numerous fouls and cards handed out. A number of Biola players suffered injuries including sophomore Caitlin Peterson, who had to get stitches after taking a shot to the head.

The physical play caught up to the Eagles early as junior Heather Moseley was sent off with a straight red card after a hard tackle in the 39th minute. Biola played well with 10 players through the rest of the first half, but things fell apart in the second.

San Diego Christian struck first in the match with a goal in the 60th minute by Taylor Aglio to make it 1-0. The Hawks would add another 20 minutes later and hold on for the 2-0 victory.

Biola managed just four shots in the match to San Diego Christian's nine. SDCC goalkeeper Emily Garbez made three saves as did Biola goalie Lauren Gregston.

The Eagles wrap up the campaign with an overall record of 5-7-3 and finish at 1-6-3 in GSAC play. The Hawks improve to 4-12-0 on the season and picked up their first GSAC victory of the season to go to 1-9-0 in conference action.
