LA MIRADA, Calif. --- After narrowly hanging on to win a suprisingly close first game, No. 18 Biola got back on its game and completed a 30-27, 30-14, 30-19 sweep over Hope International University on Tuesday night in La Mirada.
The Eagles got back in the win column with the victory after a tough five-game loss to No. 13 Point Loma Nazarene on Saturday snapped a three-match wining streak.
Biola improves to 11-6 overall and 5-4 in GSAC play while Hope drops to 6-13 and 2-8.
Sophomore Meghan Scheenstra led the way with a match-high 18 kills while fellow sophomore Kelsey Mitchell added 12 of her own while hitting at a .500 clip, recording 14 digs and adding five service aces.
Freshman setter Abbie Wright added 49 assists while freshman libero Katie Stevens had a match-best 17 digs.
Biola travels to Orange to take on Chapman University on Wednesday (Oct. 4) for a non-conference match at 7:00 p.m.
