SANTA CLARITA, Calif. --- Sophomore Meghan Scheenstra had a match-high 22 kills to lead No. 16 Biola to a 30-24, 30-21, 30-26 sweep over The Master's College in a Golden State Athletic Conference women's volleyball match Saturday night in Santa Clarita.

Biola improves to 12-9 overall with the victory and moves back to an even 6-6 in GSAC play. The Master's drops to 6-16 and 3-9 in conference.

The Eagles also received 14 kills from sophomore Kelsey Mitchell while The Master's was led by the 12 kills of Rachel Roleder.

Biola started out slowly in game one as The Mustangs jumped out to a 10-4 lead. However, the Eagles managed to tie the score at 14, followed by a 7-0 run to blow the game open. Freshman libero Katie Stevens served out the run which was highlighted by three straight kills by Scheenstra.

The Eagles went on a similar run in game two as they trailed 13-8 early on before going on a 13-2 run to take command.

Game three was a back and forth battle until Biola broke a 21-21 tie with four straight points and held on for the win.

The Eagles remain on the road next week, traveling to face arch-rival Azusa Pacific on Tuesday (Oct. 17) at 7:00 p.m.
