Abbie Wright

Abbie Wright began as an assistant coach under Aaron Seltzer before the 2013 season. In her first year on the job, the Eagles made it to the NAIA National Tournament Final and came just shy of winning its first NAIA National Title.

The Eagles have returned to the NAIA National Tournament in each subsequent season Wright was on staff and won a share of the Golden State Athletic Conference title in 2014.

After helping lead the 2015 team to a 30-4 overall record and the program's first-ever No. 1 national ranking Wright was named the AVCA/NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year and was tabbed on the AVCA's list of "30 under 30" recognizing the top-30 volleyball coaches in the nation (at all levels) under the age of 30.

Prior to coming on as an assistant at Biola, Wright spent two seasons as an assistant at Central Valley Christian School in Visalia, California. In her time with the Cavaliers she was able to work with the now-Eagle Tess Van Grouw.

Wright has a deep connection with Biola, as a 2010 graduate with a kinesiology degree and former four-year volleyball standout.

Wright appeared in 143 matches for the Eagles, an all-time record. She also holds the program records for sets played (508) and aces (182).

In addition to the all-time records, it was clear Wright was the best at what she did while she was on the court, as she led her team in hitting percentage, assists and aces at various points throughout her career.

She was a two-time NAIA and GSAC scholar-athlete and two-time GSAC Player of the Week.

Her father, Randy, also attended Biola, graduating in 1975.
