Biola closes five-game road trip with 1-0 loss at Cal State LA

LOS ANGELES, Calif --- The Biola men's soccer team completed their five game road trip against the Cal State LA Golden Eagles on Wednesday night. The Eagles fell to CSULA, 1-0.

The match remained scoreless through the opening 45 minutes, with the hosts holding a 4-0 advantage in shots. Ethan Kell kept the Golden Eagles off the board, turning aside the lone shot on goal he faced in the first half to send the match into halftime scoreless.

Cal State LA found the go-ahead goal in the 59th minute, giving the hosts a 1-0 advantage.

Biola looked for an immediate response and produced its best opportunity of the night just minutes later. Jeremy Larson put the Eagles' lone shot of the match on frame in the 64th minute, but the shot was turned away.

Kell continued to keep the Eagles within striking distance, coming up with saves in the 71st and 80th minutes as Cal State LA looked to extend its advantage. The Biola goalkeeper finished the night with three saves while playing all 90 minutes.

The Eagles continued to push for the equalizer down the stretch but could not find the back of the net.

Biola moves to 0-3-2 on the season and look forward to hosting Cal State San Marcos at Al Barbour Field on Saturday, September 12th at 4 p.m.
