Rebeka Preston joined Biola Track & Field and Cross Country as a volunteer assistant coach in 2025, returning to the Eagles after a standout collegiate career.
In her first season on staff, the Biola women won the program's first PacWest Outdoor Track & Field Championship in 2026.
A Biola alumna, Preston earned her bachelor's degree in international business in 2022 before completing her Master of Arts in Public Relations and Reputation Management in 2023.
During her collegiate career (2018-2023), Preston established herself as one of the program's top performers. She set the school record in the triple jump (12.17m) in 2023, a mark that stood until 2026. She earned Second Team All-American honors in the heptathlon at the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championships, where she placed 10th, and was also named All-Region in the triple jump. She earned All-PacWest honors with top-three finishes at the PacWest Championships in the triple jump in 2022 and 2023 and in the 400m hurdles in 2023. Preston also earned several academic awards throughout her career including CSC Academic All-District, Academic All-PacWest and the D2 ADA Academic Achievement award.
Preston continued to compete after graduating and is still competing professionally in the 800m. Her personal best time is 2:13 in that event.
Before Biola, Preston was a multi-sport athlete at Santiam Christian High School, competing in volleyball, basketball, and track & field. She was a two-time State Champion in the 400 meters (2015, 2016) and a two-time State Champion in the triple jump (2017, 2018). Her volleyball team was four-time Conference Champions and won States in 2014. She also helped the track and field team win conference in 2018.
Originally from Independence, Oregon, Preston enjoys skiing, surfing, and reading books. Her cousin, Robin Earl, was a tight end for the Chicago Bears. In addition to her coaching role, she works in Risk Management and Environmental Health and Safety at Biola. Her favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:9.
When asked why she chose to coach at Biola, Preston shared, "The Biola Athletics community has given me so much over the years that I can't think of anywhere else I want to give back and spend time coaching."
