Brian Failinger was named the head coach of Biola Volleyball in the spring of 2024. Failinger originally joined the Eagles as a volunteer assistant in fall 2020.
In his first season at the helm, Failinger guided the Eagles to nine overall wins and seven victories in conference play. In preseason play, BU took down a top-25 team in No. 19 Seattle Pacific. The team thrived in the classroom, pulling in four CSC Academic All-District honors and 19 Academic All-PacWest recognitions.

Through four seasons as an assistant, Failing helped the Eagles to a SoCal Pod PacWest Championship and three-straight seasons with at least 17 wins. During this stretch, the Eagles collected 11 All-PacWest selections and 51 Academic All-PacWest recognitions.
Before coming to Biola, Failinger was the technical coordinator for NCAA Division I Long Beach State women’s volleyball staff from 2017-2019. He was also a coach for Rockstar volleyball club for several years and was a P1440 developmental athlete for the 2019-2020 fall/winter roster.
Prior to his job at LBSU, Failinger worked as a technical coordinator, intern and volunteer for USA Volleyball for three years. He served as the technical coordinator and team manager for the 2017 Men’s Pan Am Cup team.
Failinger played collegiately at Concordia Irvine from 2015-17. He also served as a manager and a practice player for the Indiana Women’s Volleyball team from 2013-15. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science from both Indiana University and Concordia University Irvine.
